What is this?

I think groups where people can come together and talk about the things they're interested in are so dang cool. I've had a lot of fun being involved in them, and helping to organize them; moreover, they've been extremely important to my career.

My mission here is to help get the word out about good events. There are a lot of websites that try to do this, but many of them put money first and foremost; some even go as far as trying to extract as much capital as possible out of people.

But that's not what these kinds of events are about. It should be easy to get the word out about events without having to spend money to do so.
